The Silent Patient - Book Review (no spoilers)

The Silent Patient is a brilliant psychological thriller by Alex Michaelides. It is the story of art, trauma, love, affair and betrayal. The plot is simple and it becomes a page turner by his narration.

Unpredictablity is the key for a successfull thriller. Mr.Alex have done well. Even, the type of narration can be identified at the last part of this novel. Alex succeeds in holding the attention of the readers. Really, The Silent Patient is a page turner like A.J.Finn's novel.

His experience as a screen writer also helped him a lot. He knows how to present a story in a different way. This novel is adapted for screen presence but I think there is no need to adapt. The writing already gave the screen experience and it is effective. Overall, The Silent Patient will make you read silent till the end.

I Am Mother - A Netflix Movie review

I am Mother is a Netflix movie and it is about the relationship between a droid mother and human daughter. It is a movie of surprising theme with an unexpected ending from the director Grant Sputore. Droids want to re-populate Earth by creating perfect humans. The driod randomly chooses a female specimen and raises by its own. Unfortunately, the droid has grown secret bond with her daughter.

The girl finds out the truth by an unknown stranger. The girl loses faith on droid mother and the controversy arises. Micheal Lloyd Green's screenplay makes the movie much stronger in all aspects. There are only three characters throughtout the film. But it is not boaring or lagging in any portion. I am thinking it might be possible in future.

There are several questions are arised when I have watched this film.
1. Who are these Droids?
2. Whose order is this?
3. What is the background of the stranger?
4. How can a droid develop a bond with her human daughter?

This movie ended with these unanswered questions. Even though it is unanswered the movie keeps us engaging and it is nail biting.
The director chooses a simple one line and he make it complete with little bit of unaswered questions.

Overall the film is effective and it makes us to think about the future. Worth to spend time with your family.

Jumanji: The Next Level - Movie Review

     Jumanji: The Next Level is surprisingly funny and witty sequel due to Dwayne Johnson's extra-ordinary performance. The pattern is same as previous one but they made few changes in the screenplay.

     There is scope for less action but more
space for fun. The director keeps engage audience via the talent of pun. They made a few changes in selection of avatar and its weakness . There is no explanation for how the game is upgraded.

     The predictablity, simple climax and little action blocks are the weaknesses of this film. This weaknesses are balanced via grandpa characters. Every one give their best.

     Overall the sequel rises several logical questions but it is given as proper commercial entertainment. It is worth to watch in theatres.

Bring It on Ghost - A Netflix Series Review

     Bring It on Ghost is a fun packed Korean horror series which is available in Netflix. A young exorcist has psychic ability of seeing ghosts. He earns money by using his ability. Accidentally, he meets a cute girl (ghost) and they together to fight with dark souls. This review is based on first two episodes of season 1.

     The plot is simple and thin but making is very funny. In the first two episodes, we can find several layers of clue which is going to be revealed in upcoming episodes. Particularly, the protagonist's past, the devil ghost, the handsome professor's character and heroine's lost memory.

     An episode runs for an hour but there are no lags. It is a kind of thriller and fun packed unique series and it is worth to spend time.

Eli (2019) - A Netfix movie review

Eli is a netflix horror movie with twist and turns. Eli traps in a haunted hospital with his parents. He tries to investigate what is happening with the place. He unreveals the dark mystery at the end and it leads to his family into the danger zone.

The movie starts like a normal horror movie but its end is its peak. The film deals with some dark matters like satan, dark workship etc. Once again this movie is given not much importance to the background but it has clear components of present story.

Charlie Shotwell acts as Eli, gives his best and he has a bright future. Sadie Sink's character is really a mystical one and sometimes she makes to scare by his hypothetical looks. Dr.Horn and other characters are not given much importance and their character design is poor.

As usual, background music creats creepy feeling and makes our hair to stand. The climax is surely an unpredictable. This makes us to accept that this movie is a great success.

Overall Eli is a creepy, chilling, horrible horror with a twisted ending. Must watchable with your family.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Review

Maleficent:Mistress of Evil is a sequel to the film 2014. Once again Angelina Julie gives her best even with her tiny expressions. The mistress of evil wins people's heart.

Princess Aurora wants to reunite the humans and the moors. Queen Ingrith wants to destroy the moors. Ingrith uses the Godmother (Angelina Julie) as her trap. Did the queen win with her nasty politics or Did Angelina Julie win the human love? You can find answer by experiencing it.

The movie is hilarious, sweet, visually stunning, adventurous, stylish making and it deserves all positive adjectives. The phoenix concept is unable to digest and it creates some sort of predictable climax. The Bgm is awesome (hollywood is always). Music helps us to make this fantasy journey. The 3D effects are lively and sometimes we are able to feel it as real. It must be experienced in theatres.

Here and there some minor mistakes but is covered by the magical screenplay. The background of the Godmother is not clearly explained. The sweet flowers for Joacham Ronning and the screenplay writers Linda and Noah. Another bouquet for the music director Geoff Zaneli.

Overall, it will be a unfoegettable experience, if you watch with your family.

Zombieland 2: Doubletap - Zombieverse Review

Zombieland 2: Doubletap is a pretty funny sequel to the film Zombieland. Actually, greetings to the Zombieverse. The plot is just a dew drop but they suceeded by their funny and satiric actions. Many scenes are worked out well.

Once again Woody Harrelson rocks and he proved that no one will gonna fit for this role. He cracked fireworks in the theatre.

Jessie and Zoey give their matured acting in a pretty funny way (their characters). They are at the best when it is compared to first part. The very opening of columbia picture emblem itself get applause and it progresses until the post-credit scene.

The BGM is extraordinary. They hit each and every ball into the boundaries. Hats-off to the screenplay writer and the director. The film deserves to be watched.

Fractured (2019) - The Netflix Movie (no spoiler) Review

Fractured is another crispy, short and sweet thriller directed by Brad Anderson. He chose the same path. The fact is that there must be a better thread if they rethink about the plot. Ray's daughter was injured in an accident. He took her to a hospital. He found that her family was missing in the hospital. There was no evidence for her daughter's admission in the hospital. He thought that the hospital might be hide something. He wanted to save his daughter and his wife. So, you have to watch the simple twisted ending in Netflix. 

Alan's screenplay is the only thing which helps to keep pace till the end. Even though there is a predictability his screenplay saves the film. For a thriller movie, predictability will be a big mistake. The same thing is happened in this film. Even a normal movie goer will guess what comes next. The BGM adds an another positive aspect for this film. Other artists did their job well.

Sam Worthington gives his worthy performance and he too joins with the screenplay to save this film. Fractured is not a disaster at the same time it is not an exact tragedy. It will not be welcomed by a common audience. We can obviously enjoy this this thriller one time. Fractured- A movie with alternate result.

In the Tall Grass- Stephen King's Movie Review

     After the blockbuster movie It, Stephen King's work becomes on demand. All his works are started to reboot into movie form. In the past few years we have seen It 1 &2 , Gerald's Game, Pet Sematary, Carrie, 1922  and now In the Tall Grass. Even though he is a peak writer in horror/mystery genre some of the movie formats become average and sometimes it becomes disaster. For example, the movie It is a block buster but it sequel is failed. As the same way Gerald's Game and Carrie becomes a disaster. Pet Sematary attracted some heads and now In the Tall Grass.

     In the Tall Grass is an another splendid work from Stephen King. Let's see how the movie is. The plot is similar to The Edge of Tomorrow by Tom Cruise. A brother and a sister are trapped in a haunted field which contains the full of grass and an evil rock. The film depicts whether they have escaped from the field or not.
   
     The main success for a horror movie to keep the audience at their edge of their seats. Thus this movie is successful one. The opening scene arises curiosity and it make watchers to be scared. The screenplay gives the space to create horrible atmosphere. In this era, some people are not even get scared when they see a ghost in a film. With respect to this film, it's really terrified and horrified just by seeing GRASS. I'm sure if you see this film, you will be freaked out when you see the grass. The cinematography and the bgm helps to scare audience just by the grass. Particularly, the final dream part is little disturbing.

     Laysla as a pregnant lady did her best. In fact. she shouldered the whole thing. Patrick's anti-heroic qualities worked out well. The boy character is a mystical one and other characters are not given much importance. There are some logical questions/ mistakes are rised through my mind.

1. How this life cycle part was started?
2. What is the reason for a field becoming haunted?
3. Patrick becomes cursed and he killed his own family. Travis also cursed but he saves his family. Why this contrary?
4. The movie becomes a fragment because all above questions are unanswered.

Anyway In the Tall Grass definitely give you a terrific experience which will freak you out. Worth to watch.

Today we are going to see a quick summary of Emily Dickinson's poem WILL THERE REALLY BE A MORNING.

Emily Dickinson was not a feminist poet. She was a nature lover. She wrote about the beauty of nature. Unlike Keats, Emily Dickinson often portrayed the simplicity of nature. She used simple symbolisms and a simple language to depict the simplicity of nature. Only seven of her poems were published in her lifetime. Her poems were discovered by her sister.

Her poem, Will There Really Be A Morning describes another casual thing from the nature. Here is the full text of the poem..

Emily Dickinson spent most of her time in her bedroom. She observed everything through her window. She was lonely always. In this poem, Dickinson wrote about Morning. She personified morning as a person. She gave human qualities to the morning time. She asked how the morning would be and where it could be find. She also asked how tall it would be.

She was asking about Morning's physical appearance. She questioned about how his/her feet would be. She asked where would it be come from. It might be contained feathers or might not be. She asked sailors, well learned scholars, wise men and pilgrims to tell where it was living.

In this poem, morning may indicates love. Emily Dickinson spends her life alone. She was not much loved by others. So she asks questions about the love. Sometimes, Morning can be interpreted as a bright day. Some people says that she is looking for a good thing to be happened.

Angry Birds 2- 3D Review

Angry Birds 2 is a sequel to Angry Birds movie.  Before we enter into sequel, let's have a quick look on first movie. Red is always angry and people hate him. One day, he protects The Bird Island from Piggies and he becomes a super hero and he is loved by everyone.

The sequel contains the same storyline but the enemies become frenemies and they start to protect themselves (pigs and birds) from The Eagle Island. Otherwise, the plots and tricks are the same.

Even though the story line is same, the screenplay and witty humour make the movie into more delicious food to consume. Particularly, the adventure of three chicks as a sub-plot is mind blowing.

As usual Sony gives his best in their animation part and the dubbing is excellent. If you tolerate first thirty minutes, you will burst out with the laughter in remaining duration.

The whole credit goes to the music director Heitor Pereira and the director Thurap Van Orman. If you are an angry bird fan, the movie will satisfy you.  If you are a general audience, you will enjoy the movie but not get a satisfaction. Overall, Angry Birds 2, a guarenteed entertainment.

Sextuplets- An Honest Review

Mr. Alan discovers that he has five siblings that he never met before. He decides to meet his siblings and wants to reconcile with his family. He also wants to make a good impression to his father-in-law who always gives more importance to his family. The ONLY funniest thing is all the characters are played by Marlon Wayans, the producer and the writer of this film.

Marlon Wayans deserves a little claps for this try. The introduction of the characters are enjoyable but it seems irritating after a few minutes. Marlon fills the entire screen and the movie becomes monotonous. But he tries his best to make the film fun. The tragedy is that the film becomes a fun and disaster.

There is no depth in the character design. No depth in the screenplay and fun scenes. The audience seems not quitely enjoyed. The another important thing is a mild satirical elements on American Culture and tradition. He try to mock their culture but an ineffective dialogues and scenes made worse. Other actors give their enough performance for this story.

Michel Tiddies, the director and John Debney, the music director give their best enough for this average film. They try to save the entire film but unfortunately the week screenplay acts as a great wall to pacify it. Overall, the film is a family entertainment with least amount of fun with dull scenes. The film misses the wonderful opportunity to insert bursting comedies. Instead they mildly walk on the platform.

Pet Sematary (2019)- Review

Pet Sematary is a terrific novel from the hands of Stephen King, the king of horror writer. It is adapted as a film with the same title and absolutely it is a terrified one.

Dr.Louis's family relocate to a rural place and they have found horrible burial place behind their home. The semetary is filled with horror. If a person is buried on that sand, he/she will come back as an evil. The mystical chain reaction starts with the death of his cat.

Only Stephen King can write an unexpected terrific climax for these type of film. As usual, the BGM is two hundred percent perfect and it makes the horrible situation in a live manner. The film ends with the lead to sequel.

The character of El, Rachel and even the cat were given equal importance. Even the cat  gives horror feeling in this film. This is where the success lies on director's hat. Hats off to the whole team and this is the best movie version from Stepen King's adaptation after IT.

Overall the film is awesome. The unusual story and plot give a successful flower to the director. A satisfied and terrific horror.

Godzilla 2: The King of Monsters

The king of monsters is a sequel to Godzilla (2014). It is a separate cinematic universe like Marvel and DC. We have to understand the timeline of this monstrous universe.  The first movie is Godzilla(2014), then Kong: The Skull Island (prequel to godzilla) and now its The King of Monsters.

As usual Godzilla helps people to win over an alien monster MONSTER ZERO and he becomes the king. The next sequel is between Kong and Godzilla and it is titled as God vs King.
This sequel receives 50-50 positive and negative comments among movie critics.

There is only VFX in the entire movie and it seems like artificial in many places. The climax war between Godzilla and Monster Zero is really a disappointment and it seems like Tekken Video game... Round 1... Fight...

There is no proper explanation for the logical question that why Godzilla always stands human side from the ancient times. As usual, there is no injuries or harm for hero and family. As usual, Godzilla wins and there is an end credit scene which leads to the sequel Kong vs Godzilla.

The BGM and VFX gives life for this film. The actors give their best in front of green mat. Michael Doughrety must try the new things and come up with creative ideas for his next sequel. All are as usual and nothing is unusual. These usual things are the major drawback. Pacific-Rim is better than this sequel.

Overall the film is guarenteed entertainment for two hours if you do not know what to do for this weekend. Worth to watch in theatres.

Disney' Aladdin (2019)- Review

Aladdin is Disney's live action remake movie. No one can forget 1992 Genie (Robin Williamson). In 2019, Hollywood superstar Will Smith acted as Genie. This movie accuses ambi opinions among the audience. Let's go for an honest review.

The film making is awesome and it is incredable. Technically it is a strong movie from Disney. The major drawback is an exact remake of 1992. This is both the positive and negative for the film. If a film is remake, the comparison is unavoidable. Most of the times, classic version has received better reception than modern remake.

For example, Bladerunner, Termiantor, Jurassic Park etc. There are some movie which is far better than classics, Ex: Marvel series, Sherlock Holmes. This Aladdin is an exact middle position when it come to comparison.

If you have watched 1992 version, you will feel classic version is better. If you do not watch, this one feels better. However, this remake is a blasting entertainment for two hours.

There may be mixed opinion regarding Gene character and CGI in this remake. Will Smith suits well for this character but he does not give much effort. This character is not a challenging for him so he gives what it is need to be.

In several places, the characters are artificial on their expressions. The screenplay and the music make us to forget all this mistakes.

Overall, Aladdin is worth to watch in theatres and definitely it will be a fun.

Valentine: The Dark Avenger- A super hero movie review

Valentine: The Dark Avenger is an Indonesian Super Hero movie by Skylark Comics. It is an new era in super hero genre which contains simplicity. Unlike Marvel and DC it does not contain heroism, high budget etc. It is a simple super hero movie in a short duration.

Batavia is a beautiful city but it is no longer safe. Crime rate is gradually increase and people become more selfish. Mathew settle wants to give hope to the city and he chooses a simple girl from cafe for his dream Valentine project. She is the girl who mastered in martial arts.

People start to get hope from this new super hero. As usual the antagonist The Shadow enters into Batavia city and the quarrel goes on. The reason major success for the film is climax twist and an answer for her dad's murder.

The movie concept reminds some blockbuster films like Hancock, The Batman etc. It has some similarities with the elements of DC comics. But these comparisons are unavoidable.

It is an only superhero movie which has less number of vfx. The action blocks are based on martial arts so the action sequences are reliable.
If the Skylark comics comes up with better storyline or something more unique (already this film contains new concept) The Valentine cannot be neglected in the super hero genre. Over all the film is so simple and it is worth to spend time for 97 minutes.

AI Raising (2019)- Movie Review

AI Raising is a controversial film which talks about the relationship between an isolated man and an android slave girl in spaceship.

Eighty percent of the film contains softcore porn scenes. It is better to be watch alone. The important thing is that you will not feel like watching porn. It is much needed one for this film.

A man is sent to space for an unnamed mission. The company has sent an andriod slave girl to help him. Infact it looks like real hot chick. He used the android for sex only.

Then he started to feel love for the slave computer. Because of over sex she turns into human and started to feel the feelings (It is the biggest mistake in the film. Is sex enough to robo become human). What will happen at the end? You can watch this movie if you want to know. No spoilers here.

There is no twists and turns but only sex. Even though it is a softcore you are not aroused. Without those scenes the film is nothing. The film makes us to think and fear about future. We can easily connect with our present situation (some countries are started to make sex toys/VR girls etc).

It is low budget film and it is presented with their best effort. The technicians make us to feel like watching spielberg movie. Overall AI Raising is worth to spend time, if you see this as a science fiction.

Polar (2019)- A netfilx movie review

Polar is a new dimensional neo-noir based film. The protagonist Duncan, a serial killer is going to retire from his job. His company has to give pension amont which contains some millions of money.

If an employee dies in his duty, the company will takeover those money. They try to assasinate Duncan. Then the movie follows controversial elements like noir life style, starving for hardcore sex and bloody violence etc.

The film is strictly for adults because it contains sexual explicits and blood violence. The predictable screenplay of the film is both positive and negative for this film. This plot requires this weakness at the same time the predictable screenplay lags in middle.

The BGM adds extra-terristial situation for a neo-noir film. Even though the actor is aged he still looks stylish. There are some logical mistakes but the movie do not let you think those mistakes.

The most beautiful thing is the climax twist which makes us to forgot all the negative elements. The film underlies the fact KARMA IS A BITCH. Polar is a guranteed horrible entertainer and it will engage you for two hours.

Overall polar is worth to spend your time with your friends. The best option is to watch in theatres to get better experience of neo-noir film.

The Best Awkward Moments

Everyone has to experience two types of moments in their life. The delightful moments and The awkward moments. We do not have to worry about the delightful but have to worry about awkward. Sometimes it may funny but at sometimes it will create some issues. Here are the list of some awkward moments commonly experienced by us...

1. Itching in our body parts. If you meet your fiance or higher officials for first time, it may go well. Sometimes itching started to grow in the middle of the talk.. It is a horrible thing to itch our private places in front of them. We have to control because the impression may be lost.

2. If we lie, we will get caught. If we lie to friends for our comfort.. Some of the third persons are born to release those lie in front of our friends. Otherwise they can not get enogh sleep.

3.  If you go for dating with your girlfriend, you will serve the drinks very politely. At sometimes it may fall on their favourite costly dress. There are two possible outcomes. It will result breakup or she will call you as idiot.

4. Laziness is the bisggest enemy of all. If you postponed your studies, you will get fail within one or two marks you may happy that you are missed by very close. Your friends or masters will say whatever the near miss, missed is missed.

5. Sometimes we have to laugh in front of relatives for their worst jokes. Otherwise they will think that you are having head weight.

Fighting With My Family (2019)- Movie Review

After continous failures from WWE studios, Fighting With My Family is a huge come back for them. It is a casual motivational sports film without any unnecessary hero worships. Another reason for the success is nothing but a combination of biography and fiction.

It is the real story of WWE's The Youngest Divas Champion Paige. She a is from a wrestling family. Paige and her brother try to get a contract from WWE. Unfortunately, Paige gets the opportunity but his brother Zak is not.

Paige has to move from home and she faces the world for the first time. She faces many difficulties and she becomes The youngest Divas Champion in WWE history. Still, She is the youngest champion.

The beauty of the film that is interweaved with WWE stage. We know that wwe is fixed but the beats are real. Even though it is fixed crowd chanting is not possible.  But Paige achieves in her debut Raw match and won the divas championship from AJ LEE. This is the real beauty of the film. If a sports event is fixed, it is hard to make a movie on that event. Here, they have proved that they can make it.

Hats-Off to Dwane Johnson (The Rock) for believing Paige's story and accept to produce the film. This shows the experience and maturity of Rock's cini field. The thunder claps to Florence who lived as Paige and tge flowers to the director Stephen for this comic motivational film. Overall the film gives you the positive vibes and must watchable with your family
