Fear Street : Prom Queen (2025) - A Netflix Slasher movie review

Fear Street: Prom Queen is based on The Fear Street book series and it is a fourth installment. It is directed by Matt Palmer. The little town Shadyside, prepares for a prom (1988). The prom turned into bunch of BLOODY murders in the brutal ways.

The movie has a chance to fly skyhigh but i could not even reach the pedestrians pathway. It is very pathetic. There are only two to four characters so we can easily guess who the slasher would be.
The previous three Fear Street movies have strong plot , wonderful screenplay and marvellous making. This Prom Queen is not even upto the regional web series. Apart from India Fowler (as Lori Granger), no one cared to carry the character.
It is a big question why the netflix is spoiling the franchise. It is not even considered as a complete movie. This movie has a scope and space to attain heights. Unfortunately, they have missed it.
Overall, Fear Street: Prom Queen is an incomplete, ineffective and faulty but not worst movie. If you want to pass the time you can go for it.

The Garden of Second Chances- A Twisted Romance

                  Chapter 1: The Return

Elena Voss returned to the fog-draped town of Blackthorn with a canvas under her arm and a heart full of ghosts. The cobblestone streets whispered of childhood summers—of ice cream stains, firefly hunts, and Adrian Hale’s crooked smile. He’d been her first kiss, her first heartbreak, and now, a decade later, her new landlord.

Their reunion was a scene from a dream. Adrian, no longer the lanky boy she remembered, stood in the doorway of her rented cottage, his dark hair tousled by the wind, his eyes the color of storm clouds. He brought her wildflowers. “For old times’ sake,” he said. The cottage, he explained, had been in his family for generations. “It’s been waiting for you,” he added, a strange weight to his words.

                 Chapter 2: The Portrait

Adrian became her muse. She painted him in the overgrown garden behind the cottage, where roses bloomed unnaturally crimson and the air hummed with the scent of damp earth. He spoke little of the years they’d spent apart—only vague mentions of travel, a shadow crossing his face whenever she pressed.

But Elena noticed things. The way the townsfolk averted their eyes when Adrian passed. The locket she found buried in the garden, its tiny portrait a girl who looked eerily like her. The nightmares: a faceless figure in the garden, soil filling her lungs as Adrian whispered, “Stay with me.”

                    Chapter 3: The Cellar

One rain-slicked night, a hidden door creaked open beneath the cottage stairs. The cellar smelled of rosemary and rot. Ledgers lined the walls, each bearing a woman’s name, dates spanning centuries. *Clara, 1822. Marguerite, 1910. Lila, 1999.* Sketches accompanied the entries—women with Elena’s eyes, Elena’s smile.

At the back of the room, a glass vial glinted, labeled "Essence of Everlasting". Adrian’s voice slithered from the shadows: “You were always my favorite.”

                    Chapter 4: The Bargain

He explained calmly, as if discussing the weather. The Hales were no ordinary family. Their garden thrived on a secret alchemy—a life extended by another’s end. The women in the ledgers? Ingredients. “But you,” Adrian murmured, cradling her face, “you’re different. I don’t want your years. I want you to rule this cycle with me."

His kiss tasted like rosemary and copper. Elena’s mind raced. She’d loved him once. She still did, madly, terribly. But the vial in her palm seemed to pulse: Break it, and the garden dies.

               Chapter 5: The Harvest

Dawn bled across the sky as Elena stood in the garden, vial raised. Adrian watched, unflinching. “Choose,” he said. The roses trembled, as if alive.

She smashed the vial. The garden screamed. Vines withered; petals blackened. Adrian collapsed, aging centuries in seconds, his hand reaching for hers even as it crumbled to dust.

But as the sun rose, Elena felt it—a prickling in her veins. The garden’s last gift, or curse. Her skin bloomed with roses where he’d touched her. Immortal, but alone.

In the cellar, a new ledger appeared. Elena, 2023.

                               Epilogue

Years later, a man with storm-cloud eyes knocks on a cottage door. He holds wildflowers. The girl who answers has Elena’s smile.

“For old times’ sake,”he  says.

Bridgerton - A Netflix 18+ Wedding series Review

I have given Wedding Series review as a title for this article. To clarify, this series's main plot is to find the perfect matches for the major characters. It has all the elements of thriller series even though it is a family, ball and english cultural series.

The series set in 1800's (The Regency Era) which is the beginning for the changes in societal and cultural fashion of the English people. It is the writers' excellency that this series is able to connect the viewers with the charcters in 2025.

It has three seasons with the same plot line.

Season 1: It is about to find the perfect match for Daphne Bridgerton.

Season 2: It is about to find the perfect match for Lord Anthony Bridgerton.

Season 3: It is about to find the perfect match for the Penelope Featherington.

The plot may be the sane but the scenes are different for each pairs. The screenplay is the same but it is built in a situational way. The scenes and the way the plot moved is varied among the seasons.

Of all the characters , Penelope Featherington is the major character (from my point of view). She is the key role in whole series. The series plots about a beautiful family and the controversial siblings. The way they are bonding and the budding romance between the protogonist pairs are intense.

The writers also executes the sexual tension between the major pairs and their romance scenes are intense. The queen character becomes the symbol of female power. The plot gives more importance for the female characters. I do not want to reveal the other beautiful and surprising plots. The writers deserved the thunderclaps.

There are few negatives but the writers worked the script for the settings but not for the unnecessary details. This is both the positive and negative.

Overall, Bridgerton is a wonderful and feel good experience and worth to watch. Keep in the mind that it is 18+. Not for children.

Nosferatu (2024)- Horror Gothic Movie Review

The word Nosferatu meant to describe a specific type of Vampire. Particularly used to describe more monstrous vampire. It is a Roman archaic word. So, let's see how this Nosferatu movie is different from other vampire movies.

The story line revolves around the vampire's obessison with a young girl and followed by chaos.I do not want to spoil the simple plot line and climax. You can watch it on the OTT platforms. But the big screen experience will be prefered.
It has the normal flat story line but with unique and technical details. The movie contains horror, psychological, gruesome and gothic elements which made this movie more elegant than other vampire movies.
Unlike Van Helsing, Twilight, Dracula, The Vampire diaries Nosferatu  is a slow burn horror gothic drama. The uncolored tone and silent bgm creates horrifing feel.
There is an additional information that this character is an illegal adapation of Bram Stoker's Dracula which is not allowed to publish at that time. It is directed by Robert Eggers. It is his smart thinking to re-adapt the illegal adaptation with the elements of strong technical details and scenes.
The major drawback is once again that this movie will not be worked for all audiences. Overall Nosferatu is an intense, terrific and must watch horror and it will be a classic in the future.

Adolescence (2025) - A Netflix Mini Series Review

Adolescence is a Netflix mini series written by Stephen Graham and Jack Throne. It is a crime/psychological drama. The story centres on 13 year old boy Jamie Miller who is the suspect of a murder in his school.

The main success for this series that it is closely related to the reality not a cinematic. Another applause for the single shots. Even we cannot imagine how much effort they put together as a team.

There are few chasing scenes in a single shot. Personally, I do not know how those scenes have shot. Kudos to the whole team. They are acting in a casual way and even they do not see the camera while shooting.

All the actors and even supporting actors acted excellently. Another applause to the camera man who literally run with the heavy cameras. Without proper planning this kind of execution is impossible.

The major drawback is that there is no plot twists or surprising elements in this series. This series will not be worked for all audiences because it is not commercial and dramatic. If you are looking for unique experience definitely worth to try it.

Overall, Adolescence (2025) is worthy and a family binge watch for the weekend.

The Ugly Stepsister (2025) - A Body Horror Movie Review

The Ugly Stepsister (2025) is a body horror movie directed by Emilie Blichfeldt. It is her debut direction but it looks like she is an experienced director cum writer. It is surprisingly interesting.

Elvia and Alma are sisters. Agnes (Cinderlla) is her stepsister. They are dreamt to get married to the prince for the same reason ( to become rich ). Everyone thinks that Elvia is ugly. Elvia's mother tries to change Elvia's body surgically. Agnes ALICE Cinderlla with the help of her fairy mother tries to marry the prince. The scenes and plot twists are unimaginable.
Hats -Off to the writer Emilie for her perfect execution and the actress in this film.
Lea myren and Thea Sofie are literally lived as the characters. Even the supporting actors scored 100/100 in their execution. The BGM and tone of the film helps to maintain the horror tone till the end.
This movie will not be worked out for all the audiences. We come to know this is an another version of Cinderlla's story (from Elvia's point of view) in the second half. It is a slow burn dramatic horror movie and there are few open sex scenes. It is not suitable for family audiences. Definitely, it will be one of the best body horror movies.
Overall, The Ugly Stepsister warns us not to go beyond the natural beauty, slightly similar one line like The Substance. It is worth to watch.
