The Decameron (2024) - A Netflix Series Review

         The Decameron is inspired from Bocaccio's Decameron. Three young women and few men are assembled in a villa in order to protect them from plague. The differences in the characters arises conflicts. The characters trybto resolve the conflicts and secure the villa.

       The plot is very simple and all the characters are given equal importance. Every character in Decameron has an aim and the emotional problems. The few things have worked and few things worked ON and OFF for the readers.
          It is more than a comedy mixed with the flavours of emotions. We can relate the plague happenings with Corona happenings. The tone and BGM score helped the audience to revisit the plague time.

           The only drawback is the running time.  There are eight episodes. Only 5-6 episodes are more than enough. Two episodes should be cut off. Then it will be more effective for the readers. Actors' deserved a long applause for their performance.

         A simple plot, one location, many sub-plots, characters' depth make the series watchful. As usual it is not for all type of audiences. Overll, The Decameron is an engaging, entertaining and funny series and it is Adults only. It is an average watch.

IMDB = 6.4/10

LIT SCALE= 6.2/10
