Brick (2025) is a sci-fi mystery thriller by Philip Koch. A couple who are in the verge of break up is surrounded by a mysterious cyber brick. They try to escape from the apartment simply like Escape Room.
In the beginning, it seems like a elite game show type of movie. The climax changes the movie genre into sci-fi. One apartment, five to six characters, minimal running time- with these minimal elements the writer and director Philip tries his best to engage audience.
The BGM and picture quality is good enough for this budget. The actors' performance is good. The watchers are unable connect themselves with the movie. The character development takes some time to settle the plot. May be the one location concept makes the movie drags here and there.
We have seen this concept for so many years like Escape Room, Panic Room, Phone Booth, The Lift and so on. That kind of screen magic is not well executed. Some scenes and dialogues are behind abstract things. There are few controversial things in the dialogue like New World Order, One World One Order and few complicated unexplained ending.
Overall, Brick(2025) is not a worst and not at the best. Somewhere caught between average and below average. It is a passable one.
