Young Detective Dee is visually strong and action packed movie by Tsui Hark. The investigation on report of sea monster reveals the dark secret in the dynasty.
The film is engaged audience for two hours without any lagging. The movie is technically strong but by making it is quite week. Somehow, the screenplay and action scenes balanced those negative points.
They try like Sherlock Holmes technique to introduce Dee but it is partially succeeded. Apart from the entertainment, there are several logical questions are there to answer.
1. It is just a big fish. Why the title Sea Dragon?
2. What is the motive behind the interruption of the creature? (The sea monster plot do not give any extra attraction)
3. There is no proper back story of Dee.
4. The film portrays Dee is the only clever person in the dynasty (In Sherlock, the doctor also plays major role)
Now, the film is streaming in Netflix.
Overall, Young Detective Dee is perfect movie only for entertainment, if you do not worry about other things. It will be fun to spend your time with family by watching this time.
