Bulbbul (2020) - A Netflix Horror Movie Review

Bulbbul is an Indian Hindi language super-natural horror drama directed by Anvita Dutt Guptan and produced by Anushka Sharma. It is a periodical horror movie set in 1880's. The setting of the movie is Bengal presidency.



There are series of murder takes place in a village in India which is under British rule. The Milady Bulbbul and his Brother-in-law try to find out the dark secret of these murders and this lead to shocking Milady's traumatical past.

Hats-off to the director and the screenplay writer for this planned master piece. Somehow we are unlucky to miss the theatre experience in this quarantine. It is released in Netflix. Definitely, this movie will be trending for couple of days in Netflix. Tripti Dimri did her job well by her excellent screen presence.

Thanks to Anushka Sharma acts as a producer for this film. The movie deals with feminist perspectives at the time of 1880's. It talks about the pathetical condition of women before Independence. The director gives exact touch regarding the child marriage, sexual assault and blood violence among women throught out the entire film.



The BGM gives the exact feel what the director wants to convey. The art work is awesome and definitely it must have released in theatres.

Overall, Bulbbul (2020) is a masterpiece movie of this year and it contains powerful elements of feminism. It is dark, psychologically disturbing, powerful, slow-burn, strong acting, masterpeace art work. It must be watched with your whole family.
